What would happen if a nuclear weapon were detonated on the Moon?

Actually in the 1950s U.S. Air Force had considered conducting a nuclear test on the moon. However, the only test known as Project A 119 would have had little effect on the moon.

What would happen if a nuclear weapon were detonated on the Moon?

C.N.N. When Leonard Riffel, a scientist in this project, was asked if we were able to do any harm to the Moon or to push it out of its orbit, he replied that in fact we have so many nuclear weapons. No. About 100 trillion megatons to cover the moon from its orbit and about 10 billion TNT to do some serious damage. Will be required.

In the seventies, a television show was made on a similar story in which the moon escapes from its orbit into space due to a nuclear accident. Of course this can only happen in a show, not in reality.

We do not know much about the moon's radio-activation. It is open to cosmic rays and the sun's radiation and, like the Earth's atmosphere, it does not have any protective shell.

NASA sent LUNAR RECONNALSANCE  ORBITAL  in 2009 and one of its tasks was to collect facts about radiation in the moon's atmosphere.
Clearly said to be Honestly speaking, it will be like cumin in the camel's mouth.
